Mark your calendars for the COABE New England Regional Institute happening at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine on June 16-18, 2015. Registration for the MAEA / COABE New England Regional Institute will open in March 2015. For more information click here.
Maine Adult Education Association is pleased to share the Call for Presenters for the Regional MAEA/COABE Conference to be held on June 16, 17, and 18 at Bowdoin College in Brunswick.

Keynote Speaker–Christopher M. Coro
Christopher M. Coro, Ph. D. is an Education Program Specialist at the U. S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE). He is currently serving as the Deputy Director for the Division of Adult Education and Literacy. Among his duties, Dr. Coro oversees the implementation of various research and technical assistance activities for OVAE’s Division of Adult Education and Literacy. He has also been involved in the development of regulatory and non-regulatory guidance to support implementation of the recently enacted Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
Prior to joining the U. S. Department of Education, Dr. Coro directed a large, comprehensive adult education program at Northampton Community College in eastern Pennsylvania. In addition to experience in adult education leadership and professional development, he has 17 years of experience as a classroom teacher—11 years as a high school modern language and social studies teacher and 6 years as an adult ESL instructor.
Dr. Coro holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages and Communication Arts from Hofstra University. He also holds a Masters of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in adult education—both from Capella University.

The 2015 ALAPCAE Adult Education Summer Conference date is set! July 8-10, 2015 at The Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa, at the Convention Center in Montgomery, Alabama. We have a variety of exciting and informative workshops tailored to Adult Education instructors. I think it is safe to say that everyone will gain valuable professional development. It will be a unique opportunity to socialize, network, and exchange ideas with other adult educators. The keynote speakers are always inspirational and entertaining. We hope everyone will walk away with new ideas and will be able to benefit from this great learning experience.
