Funding Opportunity
Earn Up to $10,000 for Connecting Adult Learners to Construction Career Pathways
COABE is excited to announce a new funding opportunity through our partnership with OIC of America designed to support adult education programs that are preparing learners for careers in the construction industry and other high-demand skilled trades.

Through this initiative, participating programs may earn $1,000 for each learner who successfully completes a GED® credential, with funding available for up to 10 completions per program. Eligible programs may receive up to $10,000, and a total of $50,000 will be awarded nationally.

Adult education programs play a critical role in helping learners build the foundational skills needed to access training, apprenticeships, credentials, and employment opportunities in the skilled trades. By earning a GED, learners take an important step toward economic mobility and become better positioned to enter career pathways that offer family-sustaining wages and long-term advancement opportunities.

This funding is intended to recognize and support programs that are helping adult learners achieve this important milestone while building stronger connections to workforce and construction career opportunities in their communities. Programs are encouraged to leverage partnerships with employers, apprenticeship programs, workforce boards, community colleges, unions, and OIC affiliates to create clear pathways from education to employment.
