COABE Presenter Training
To ensure a seamless presentation, COABE requires each hybrid (virtual and in-person combined) presenter have a support person (buddy) to assist them.
Looking for a buddy? Please use the Buddy Finder where you can ask for or volunteer to serve as a buddy or ask a colleague for assistance.
Plan Your Session
Strands
Select the conference strand that best aligns with your session’s primary topic and intended audience. Your proposal will be reviewed by the appropriate Strand Partner.

Please note: Reviewers may recommend your session for a different strand if they determine it is a better fit.

What to Bring

Your own computer and any necessary adapters or connectors

At least 45 copies of any handouts you plan to distribute

Presentation rooms support common connections, including HDMI and VGA.
Presenter Responsibilities

Completing the Present with Excellence credential if you are a first-time COABE presenter. Completion is required for inclusion in the conference program.

Registering for the conference by January 31, 2027.

Reviewing your session title, description, scheduled date, and time for accuracy.

Submitting any requested changes by January 31, 2027.

Conference Sessions
In-Person
Sessions delivered to an in-person audience at the conference.

Presentation rooms include a screen, projector, internet access, microphone, and presentation remote.

Concurrent sessions use theater-style seating.

Preconference sessions use round-table seating.

Chart paper may be requested by January 31, 2027.
Virtual
Sessions delivered entirely online through Zoom.

Technical support is available for virtual presenters.

Concurrent sessions use Zoom Webinar by default.
-
Virtual concurrent sessions are recorded for playback.
-
Available engagement tools include chat, Q&A, annotation, and interactive polling.

Virtual preconference sessions use Zoom Meeting to allow for breakout rooms and are not recorded unless otherwise specified.
Hybrid
Sessions delivered simultaneously to in-person and virtual audiences.

Presenters engage both audiences as part of one session.
-
Hybrid session rooms include a laptop for connecting with the virtual audience.

Presenters should plan activities and interactions that are accessible to participants in both environments.

Technical support will be available to assist with the virtual components of the session.

Hybrid presenters should review COABE’s hybrid presentation resources and professional development before the conference.
